TOP CAT was a prime time animated series from Hanna Barbera which ran from Sept 1961 to April 1962.The show was based around alley cat Top Cat, or "T.C." to his friends, and his gang of hucksters, hustlers, and con-men (or con-cats,rather)in their attempts to score and their tribulations in trying to avoid their nemesis, Officer Dibble.
Much like THE FLINTSTONES had it's roots in The Honeymooners, TOP CAT was loosely based on The Phil Silvers show.Indeed,T.C.'s voice actor,Arnold Stang, utilized his best Phil Silvers impression on the show.
The series ran for 30 episodes on the ABC Network from September 1961 to April 1962 in the 8:30-9:00 pm timeslot.

TOP CAT has been published by several different comic book publishers, beginning with DELL, who released three issues between December 1961 and June 1962.
GOLD KEY took over publishing with issue #4 (a rarity in the comic world--when licenses change hands, numbering generally reverts back to the beginning again)and published 28 issues, ending with #31 in 1970.
In 1970, Charlton Comics acquired the rights and published 20 issues, ending in November 1973.
